Job Description
Position Overview:
The School Bus Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing our fleet of school
buses to ensure safe and reliable transportation services. This individual will work closely with the
Mechanic Lot Manager and Field Operations team to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot
mechanical issues, and keep detailed records of all repairs and services performed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on school buses
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and brake systems
• Maintain service records and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Conduct road tests and emissions inspections
. Available for AM and PM Bus Driving
• Report major issues or safety concerns to the Mechanic Lot Manager
• Support the fueling, safety checks, and daily upkeep of all fleet vehicles
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of diesel mechanic or fleet maintenance experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license; CDL with school bus endorsement is a plus
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic tools
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
. State Inspection License a plus but not mandatory
. Electrical knowledge of radio camera gps installation a plus but not mandatory
Work Schedule & Compensation:
• Full-time position, Monday through Friday
• Pay commensurate with experience
