The role includes work with a diverse range of public assembly building types, including sports venues, convention centers, and transportation facilities. What Your Day Could Consist Of Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on projects, frequently involving sports/entertainment venues and integrated mixed-use development districts. Prepare for and attend client interviews, focus groups, and presentations; develop graphics and written content for design documents and publications. Other duties as required. Requirements for Success Strong technical, analytical, design, graphics, and visualization skills related to urban planning and design. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of place-making and community-based design; development of complex urban design, built form and public realm plans, policies, and guidelines. Proficiency in industry-standard 2D/3D software (Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, SketchUp, ArcGIS, Power BI, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite). Experience with computational design modeling and solving complex architecture/urban planning problems via visual programming. Working knowledge of Python and Ruby is a plus. Ability to present design products and project descriptions publicly; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; maintain effective communication with team members. Passion for design and placemaking. Essential Qualifications Master’s degree in urban planning and/or urban design with a bachelor’s degree in architecture or landscape architecture. 6–12 years of experience in urban design. Professional registration is preferred but not required. Additional Details Travel may be required. Overtime may be necessary. Compensation The projected salary range for this opportunity is $115,833 - $134,791 annually, depending on skills, experience, and education. Populous is an equal opportunity employer.
