• Location: Denver, CO 80204 (Colorado nursing jobs)\n
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract\n
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,220 – $2,280\n
• Start Date: November 17, 2025 (flexible)\n
• End Date: February 16, 2026\n
• Duration: 13 weeks\n
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30)\n
• Hours per Week: 36\n
• On-Call: 1 mandatory on-call per 4-week schedule (rarely called in)\n
• Weekend Requirement: Up to every weekend\n
• Charting System: EPIC EHR\n
• Unit: Combined Pediatric and PICU (20 pediatric beds, 8 PICU beds)\n

\n\nPICU Charge RN Qualifications\n

\n
• Active Colorado or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license\n
• Minimum 2 years of recent Charge RN experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or preceptor experience\n
• Level II trauma nursing experience required\n
• Certifications (AHA required): BLS, ACLS, PALS\n
• EPIC EHR charting experience preferred\n
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)\n
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening, including THC/marijuana panel\n
• Willingness to float within clinical expertise as needed\n
• First-time travel nurses welcome\n

\n\nPICU Charge Nurse Responsibilities\n

\n
• Lead and coordinate care as the Charge RN for pediatric and PICU patients\n
• Manage patient assignments based on acuity (ratios typically 1:3; new trauma patients 1:1, transitioning to 1:2 as acuity decreases)\n
• Supervise and support nursing staff, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based pediatric care\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services, and more\n
• Utilize advanced clinical skills in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, and pediatric critical care procedures\n
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC EHR\n
• Participate in mandatory on-call rotation and weekend coverage as scheduled\n
• Adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols\n
