Overview Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring Science Teachers for the Middle School for the upcoming year and beyond. CERTIFIED TEACHERS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A HIRING BONUS. A $7,500 bonus is available for teachers with a Science certificate issued by the NJDOE. TEACHER SUPPORTS

Teachers are part of a school-wide team and receive career-long coaching and professional development. They work with peers in professional learning communities, and partner with a range of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs. Examples of such teacher supports include: Abundant planning periods during the school day A research-based curriculum and supporting curricular materials High-quality formative assessments aligned with the curriculum to identify mastery gaps Full-time reading and math specialists who tutor students; counselors and social workers who help with non-academic needs Requirements Candidates MUST EITHER hold a New Jersey Department of Education CE, CEAS, Limited CE, or Standard Certificate in a K-12 Science, OR hold Elementary Certification with a Middle School Science (5-8) endorsement. A K-6 Certificate with a strong Science background may be considered. Charter schools ARE public schools. Our teachers are part of the New Jersey Teachers’ Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) with pension credits transferable from traditional public schools.
