Job Summary

We are seeking a front desk Registered Dental Assistant located in Springale, AR. The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is responsible for aiding the dentist in dental treatments and patient care. Must be bilingual (Spanish/English or Marshallese/English). Must have strong computer skills, excellent communication, organizational ability, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Some experience working in a healthcare setting strongly preferred. The schedule for this position will be Monday-Thursday 7:45a-5:00p, Friday 7:45a-1:00p.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient flow so as to assure prompt service for patients.
• Maintains treatment room supplies and cleanliness for optimal efficiency.
• Ensures patient information is entered into the electronic medical record (EMR) accurately, including but not limited to:
  • Dental procedures.
  • Appointments.
  • Super-bills.
• Performs or assists as requested by dentist in procedures and examinations within guidelines of certification and/or training:
  • Performs dental cleanings and fluoride treatments.
  • Administers Sedation to patients, as needed
  • Administers Nitrous Oxide.
  • Takes and develops dental x-rays
  • Monitors patients and assists doctor during treatments and exams.
• Explains treatment options and post-care instructions to patient and family.
• Provides training and support for new and existing staff.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment to ensure the professional appearance of the dental clinic at all times.
• Adheres to applicable regulatory guidelines and laws, including but not limited to, the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners, HIPAA/HITECH, HRSA, NCQA PCMH and OSHA.
• Ensures that Community Clinic will not cause or allow any organizational practice, activity, decision or circumstance which is unlawful, imprudent, and negligent, contrary to mission, vision or policies or in violation of commonly accepted nonprofit or professional ethics.
• With respect to the treatment of users, our Clinic's Staff may not cause or allow conditions, procedures, or decisions that are unfair, unsafe, undignified, discriminatory or preferential, or fail to provide appropriate confidentiality.
• Ensures that Community Clinic protects our IRS tax-exempt status (501(c)(3) at all times.
• Ability to travel for activities such as meetings, classes, and workshops. Must be able to travel by air as needed to attend training, conferences, and related activities, including overnight travel.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Registered Dental Assistant classes or on the job training needed to acquire RDA license.
• Current RDA license and current CPR card
  • Nitrous Oxide class with exam and passing grade.
  • Prophy class with exam and passing grade.
  • X-Ray class with exam and passing grade.
• Bilingual Spanish/English or Marshallese/English is required.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office software
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds.
