This is a FT Monday thru Friday day position-8a-4:30pm

The QI Specialist is responsible for the optimization for patient outcomes and minimization of risk for all healthcare customers by identifying areas in need of improvement and supporting the implementation for quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform quality management activities including patient care and experience, regulatory and accreditation compliance, risk management, safety, infection prevention, and performance
  • Conduct medical record review, clinical case records abstraction, and surveillance
  • Prepare data and variance reports for departments allowing for the identification of performance improvement opportunities based on reliable data trending
  • Maintain clinical quality knowledge through self-improvement, participation in project related educational sessions/webinars, and remaining current on all relevant changes
  • Provide education to physician leaders, nursing, other team members, and community partners as needed to enhance specialized patient care and quality outcomes
  • Support leadership in the development of performance and process improvement plans, implementing initiatives using established change management models

Successful candidates:

  • Possess the ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Be detail-oriented and organized
  • Possess problem solving skills and be self-motivated
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required and licensure by the State of Kansas to work as an RN
  • Minimum of three years' experience working in a hospital; clinical position
