Role Overview

We are seeking a Volunteer Grant Writer to help secure funding that sustains and expands Abinchi’s programs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys research, writing, and storytelling for impact , and who wants to use their skills to support meaningful, community-centered work.

Responsibilities

• Research grants, foundations, and funding opportunities aligned with Abinchi’s mission
• Assist with writing and editing grant proposals, LOIs, and applications
• Collaborate with leadership to gather program details, budgets, and impact data
• Adapt narratives for different funders while maintaining Abinchi’s voice and values
• Track grant deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements
• Support post-award reporting when applicable

Qualifications

• Strong writing and research skills
• Interest in nonprofit development, grants, or philanthropy
• Ability to follow guidelines, deadlines, and instructions carefully
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable using Google Docs/Sheets
• Experience with grant writing or nonprofit proposals is a plus (not required)
• Respect for faith-aligned, culturally grounded, and ethical storytelling
• Willingness to learn and collaborate
