Job Description Job Description The Accounting Analyst is responsible for reconciling all general ledger accounts and creating monthly financial reports. The position requires specialized skills in organization, accuracy, timeliness, problem solving, clear verbal and written communication. Knowledge in accrual and cash accounting and fund accounting. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP This position reports directly to the CFO and is currently based out of the Ventura, CA office. COMPANY VALUES & CULTURE 1a. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES · Perform assigned accounting functions · Prepare budgets and forecasts · Publish timely and accurate financial statements · Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings · Reconcile accounts payable and receivable · Ensure timely bank payments · Compute taxes and prepare tax returns · Analyze balance sheets and profit/loss statements · Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity · Audit financial transactions and documents · Track and forecast cash flow · Process non-CBA payroll · Assist with Taft and Subcontract labor compliance on public works projects KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES · 2 to 4 years experience · Construction industry experience preferred · Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) · Experience with general ledger functions · Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills · College degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required · Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus WORKING CONDITIONS General Office indoor environment, sitting, standing, typing, carrying or walking under normal situations; work is primarily indoors. Normal office conditions such as LED and/or fluorescent lighting, air conditioning and heating with low noise. Occasional lifting of plans or related bid documents.
