Our reputable client is in need of a Junior Accounting Specialist with CPA. A RESUME AND INTERVIEW WILL BE REQUIRED.

•Associates degree required. Accounting degree preferred.

•Work independently and as part of a team.

•Must be able to work overtime hours required during busy season (Feb 1 to May 15)

•Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in related field required

•CPA qualifications met (Maryland State, Federal IRS, knowledge preferred)

Duties and Responsibilities

•Daily time sheet reporting in Xero Practice Manager – practice management software used by our company

•No remote work

•No client interaction is required at this time

•Tax Preparation

• Prepare various federal and state tax returns, including business (C Corp, S-Corp, partnerships), individual, and trust tax returns

•Identify additional items or information needed for return preparation and request from supervisor

•File extensions as needed, generating payment vouchers and extension confirmations for distribution to clients

•Maintain timely communication with supervisor regarding return status and timelines

•Notify supervisor when documents are ready to be sent to clients

Financial Statement Preparation

• Prepare financial statements for tax returns using client provided data , such as check stubs, bank statements, etc.

•In some instances, the preparation of a Excel trial balance will be sufficient.

Document Management

•Produce and organize Work Papers for each return prepared, including client prepared documents

•Download copies of tax returns and documents for internal record retention and client documents, including tax returns, vouchers and eFile forms

•Send and monitor e-file authorizations to clients using AdobeSign or other secure methods

Preferred Skills/Software

• Knowledge of IRS and State Tax codes and general accounting principles

•Strong software skills, including Excel, UltraTax, AccountingCS, Fixed AssetCS, Xero

•Excellent time management and communication skills.

•Detail oriented

•Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively

•Ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize critical tasks

•Ability to self-review work for accuracy

SCHEDULE:

Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

(Overtime required during tax season- February thru April)

Full-time, in person evaluation-hire position
