Job Description

Accountant

As an entry-level accountant, you will assist with a wide range of accounting functions, including bookkeeping, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting senior staff. This is an on-site, in-person position based in Buffalo, New York.  

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports under the supervision of senior accountants.
  • Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring proper documentation and timely processing.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as directed.
  • Assist with external audits and internal financial reviews.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Must live in the City of Buffalo or be willing to relocate to the city within 6 months of accepting the role.
